Maintenance

Deployment

  • Always ensure that the hydrant to which the Hydraclam is being attached has been thoroughly vented to wash away material from the Hydrant bowl.

Cleaning of Sensors

  • Check the sensor head each time it is removed for any deposits that may have formed. Any deposits formed on the lenses or other surfaces should be removed using water and a lint free cloth.
  • After each use the conductivity sensor tip should be rinsed thoroughly with deionised water. If there is a build up of solids inside the sensor head these should be removed using a toothbrush. When solids or dirt are removed wipe clean using a tissue soaked in Propanol solvent.
  • WARNING: DO NOT use any other solvents than that recommended above.

Battery and Seal/ Gasket Replacement

  • See manual

Calibration Frequency

  • The following calibration intervals are guidelines only. Accuracy is dependent on medium under analysis, environmental factors, calibration frequency and the proper maintenance of sensors.
  • It should be noted that increased calibration frequently (within reason), coupled to effective maintenance, will achieve higher accuracy results. The standards listed are also only a guide. Higher or lower standards, not exceeding the minimum or maximum range, can be used as the sensors are linear.
  • Turbidity 3 to 6 months (dependent on site & use) using 1 and 10 NTU
  • Electrical Conductivity 3 to 6 months (dependent on site & use) 447µS and 1413µS
  • Pressure Yearly at factory 1 and 10 bar
  • Temperature Factory calibrated

Palm PDA

  • Upon delivery the battery within your PDA will need cycling (charging and discharging) three times before it attains it optimum performance.
  • Ensure that the cable and connections remain free of moisture at all time.
  • Use protective covers to avoid scratching of the touch sensitive screen
  • For more specific information please refer to the Palm manual.
